Ellora caves

Discovered by chance in the jungle Sahayadri range, the Ajanta cave complex with its beautiful murals has been fascinating visitors from around the world for decades.
It is about 100 km from the city of Aurangabad strange. The caves of Ajanta murals dating from the second and fifth century AD and a feature scenes from the life of Buddha and the stories told in their reincarnations of the Jataka stories.Visitors will discover Boddhisatvas, Buddha images, the cut scenes and vignettes of everyday life in the 5thcentury. When the Chalukya dynasty and Rashtrakuta had begun his rise to power in the seventh and eighth centuries, which brought strong influences of Hinduism, reflected in art and architecture.
Ellora’s Hamlet is located about 30 km from Aurangabad is the place where the cave complex at Ellora, now a World Heritage site. Caves can be divided intro three groups Buddhist caves, Grottos and Caves Hindu Jain. The centerpiece of Ellora is the cave probably Kailasanatha Temple. The Buddhist caves were the earliest structures (the 5th to 7th centuries), and served as Vihara (monastery) and chaityas (prayer rooms). Caves was adorned with images of Buddha carved Boddhisatvas and events in the life of Buddha. The Hindu caves (7th-8th century) offers a complex set of artistic skills with a wide range of topics. Jain Caves reflects the characteristics of the Jain ascetic philosophy and tradition.
